Understanding this website

Text on our pages is currently being reviewed to ensure it follows plain English principles where possible. According to The Oxford Guide to Plain English, this is:

"the writing and setting out of essential information in a way that gives a co-operative, motivated person a good chance of understanding the document at first reading, and in the same sense that the writer meant it to be understood."

This can be difficult when writing about legal issues which often include technical legal terms, and reviewing our website will be an ongoing process.

You can help us to maintain the quality of our website by giving us your comments and suggestions for improvement. Please email and we will do our best to investigate and fix any issues as part of our ongoing programme of improvements.
